Annual Meeting ~ Dinner

The Meeting ~ Dinner is traditionally held the second Thursday of April

 

April 10, 2008 

Dear Officers and Members, 

The 69th Annual Dinner and meeting of the Order will be held on Thursday, the 10th of April 2008.  A meeting of the Officers and Council will be held at 6:00 p.m. The location of the dinner will be indicated on the invitation you will receive by US mail. 

An open bar (2 drinks per person) will be at 7:00 p.m. prior to dinner at 8:00 p.m.  Dress will be white or black tie with decorations for the gentlemen and evening dress for the ladies. The cost is $100.00 per person including tax and gratuity.  

Anthony Hoskins, professional genealogist, historian, lecturer, and author will be the guest speaker.  He authored: “Mary Boleyn’s Carey Children: Offspring of King Henry VIII?” and books on the CT families of John Umfreville and the Washburns.  An expert in medieval royal and noble genealogy, he is a regular contributor to the Google Medieval Genealogy group and has been featured on British television.  In addition, author Jeff Sypeck will be present to introduce and sign his new book “Becoming Charlemagne: Europe, Baghdad, and the Empires of A.D. 800.”

Dear Officers and Members, 

The 68th Annual Dinner and meeting of the Order  was held on Thursday, the 12th of April

Douglas Richardson, renowned genealogist, will be the guest speaker. Douglas is the author of “Plantagenet Ancestry” and “Magna Charta Ancestry,” as well as dozens of articles in major genealogical journals. He will be signing copies of his books immediately following dinner. The title of his program will be: “What was I  thinking?” 

          

Douglas Richardson, will be signing copies of his books: “Plantagenet Ancestry: A Study In Colonial And Medieval Families,” and “Magna Charta Ancestry: A Study In Colonial And Medieval Families.”

2006

The 67th Annual Dinner and meeting of the Order was held at the University Club,  1135 Sixteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC on Thursday, the 13th of April.    A meeting of the Officers and Council was held at 6:00 p.m. at which time the election of officers for the 2006-2009 term will occur. 

A cash bar reception will be at 7:00 p.m. prior to dinner at 8:00 p.m.  Dress will be white or black tie with decorations for the gentlemen and evening dress for the ladies.  The cost is $80.00 per person including tax and gratuity.  Valet parking is available at an extra fee. 

Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck, a member and well-known genealogist, will be the guest speaker. He is supervisor of the Genealogy Section at the Dallas Public Library, writes a column for the “Dallas Morning News,” and is an author of books and articles.  The title of his program will be: “Genealogy of the 21st Century: Headaches, Heartaches, and the Truth.”

2005

The 66th Annual Dinner and meeting of the Order was held at the University Club, 1135 Sixteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC on Thursday, the 14th of April. A meeting of the Officers and Council was be held at 6:00 p.m.

Timothy Field Beard, who served 4 terms as our 10th President General from 1991 – 2003, and who continues as our Genealogist General, will be the guest speaker. As one of America’s foremost genealogists and a lecturer on the subject, Tim‘s program is entitled “The Long Road to Charlemagne” with a question and answer period.

The 65th Annual Dinner and meeting of the Order was held at the University Club, 1135 Sixteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC on Thursday, the 15th of April 2004.  A meeting of the Officers and Council was held at 6:00 P.M.

The 64th Annual Dinner and meeting of the Order was held at the University Club, 1135 Sixteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC on Thursday, the 10th of April.  A meeting of the Officers and Council was held at 6:00 p.m.
