Lady Catherine Maria Hastings was born on 13 February 1697 at Ashbey de la Zouche, Co. Leicester. She was the daughter of Theophilus Hastings 7th Earl of Huntingdon and Frances Leveson Fowler. Lady Catherine Maria Hastings married Reverend Granville Wheler on 17 December 1724. Her married name was Wheler. Lady Catherine Maria Hastings died on 24 January 1740 at Otterden Place, Otterden, Co. Kent, at age 42.
